  • Nexus has handled communications and marketing for the British egg industry since 1987 and has been instrumental in helping the industry recover from one of the worst-ever food scares.
  • Since then, Nexus has helped reintroduce the Lion mark and build awareness to more than 90%. Through the use of creative PR executions, Nexus has helped return the sector to long term growth.
  • A good example of this is the 'self timing' egg. The Lion Quality eggs PR team working at Nexus were inundated with enquiries after they announced the development of a new heat sensitive ink that will ensure the perfect boiled egg. The story, which appeared in the majority of national papers, was soon seen on BBC Breakfast, GMTV, Sky News and BBC News 24 and heard around the country on local radio. With the word spreading, media around the world were soon intrigued by the self timing egg with the British Egg Information Service consumer website registering a record number of hits as everyone 'scrambled' to find out how to boil the perfect egg. Word even reached the far shores of India, Australia and Canada - to name but a few. The estimated advertising value of the media coverage so far is more than £600,000.
